    Good to Know

    Flight Information

All domestic flights during the tour, including round-trip flights between Kathmandu and Pokhara, are included in the package. Flights offer scenic views of the Himalayas, adding a breathtaking element to your journey. International flights to and from Kathmandu are not included, but we recommend arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport on the first day as per your schedule. On the final day, after breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure. We advise booking international flights in advance to secure the best fares and ensure timely connections.

    Nepal Visa Information

A visa is required to enter Nepal and can be easily obtained upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. You will need a valid passport with at least six months' validity, a passport-sized photo, and the visa fee, payable in cash (USD or other major currencies). Tourist visas are typically available for 15, 30, or 90 days. To save time, you can also apply for an electronic visa (eVisa) online before arrival. Luxury Holidays Nepal will assist you with any questions regarding the visa process to ensure a hassle-free experience.

    Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is mandatory for all participants and must cover trip cancellations, interruptions, medical treatment, and emergency evacuations, including helicopter rescues if needed. While the tour is designed to be safe and comfortable, unforeseen circumstances like flight cancellations or health emergencies may occur. We recommend choosing a comprehensive policy that ensures peace of mind throughout your trip. Please carry a printed copy of your insurance policy as it may be required during your travels.

    Health and Physical Fitness

This tour is suitable for travelers with moderate physical fitness levels. While activities like the hike to Sarangkot are relatively easy, some walking is involved during sightseeing tours in Kathmandu and Pokhara. We recommend staying hydrated and wearing comfortable shoes for all excursions. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions, consult your doctor before the trip. Rest assured, our team at Luxury Holidays Nepal is prepared to provide support and ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey.

    Weather Conditions

Nepal experiences diverse weather conditions depending on the region and time of year. In Kathmandu and Pokhara, the weather is typically mild and pleasant. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer clear skies and comfortable temperatures, ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. Winter (December to February) is cooler, while summer (June to August) brings monsoon rains, adding a lush green backdrop to the landscapes. It’s advisable to pack layers to accommodate fluctuating temperatures, especially if traveling during shoulder seasons.

    Cultural Considerations

Nepal is a culturally rich and deeply spiritual country. Visitors should respect local customs and traditions, especially at religious sites like Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa. Dress modestly, covering shoulders and knees when visiting temples or monasteries. Always remove your shoes before entering sacred areas and seek permission before taking photos of people or religious ceremonies. A warm smile and greeting, such as “Namaste,” go a long way in showing respect and building rapport with locals.

    Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is customary in Nepal and appreciated for good service. For guides and drivers, a tip of $5–$10 per day per person is recommended, depending on the quality of service. In restaurants, tipping 5–10% of the bill is customary if a service charge is not already included. Porters or staff assisting with luggage also appreciate small gratuities. While tipping is not mandatory, it is a gesture of appreciation for excellent service, and your generosity will be warmly received.

    Safety & Security

Nepal is generally a safe destination for travelers. However, basic precautions should be taken to ensure a secure trip. Always keep your belongings, including passports, cash, and electronics, in a secure location or carry them in a money belt or crossbody bag. Avoid walking alone at night in unfamiliar areas, and rely on your guide for advice on local safety practices. Luxury Holidays Nepal ensures your safety throughout the tour by providing trusted transportation, experienced guides, and reliable accommodations.

    Currency and Money Matters

The official currency of Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). Major cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara have ATMs that accept international cards, but it’s advisable to carry some cash for smaller towns and activities. US dollars are widely accepted for larger transactions, but exchanging money at banks or authorized currency exchange counters ensures better rates. Credit cards are accepted in upscale hotels and restaurants, but smaller establishments may require cash. We recommend informing your bank of your travel plans to avoid issues with international transactions.

    Accommodation Standards

The tour offers flexible accommodation options to cater to your preferences.

    • Budget Option: Comfortable 3-star hotels like Hotel Holy Himalaya in Kathmandu and Hotel Lakestar in Pokhara.
    • Standard Option: Premium 4-star accommodations such as Hotel Mulberry in Kathmandu and Mount Kailash Resort in Pokhara.
    • Luxury Option: High-end 5-star hotels like Kathmandu Marriott Hotel and Temple Tree Resort in Pokhara.
    • Premium Option: Ultimate luxury at The Dwarika's Hotel in Kathmandu and Dorje’s Resort in Pokhara.
All accommodations include twin/double sharing on a bed-and-breakfast basis, offering excellent service and facilities for a comfortable stay.

    Transportation

The tour includes private, air-conditioned vehicles for all ground transfers and sightseeing, ensuring a seamless and comfortable journey. Domestic flights between Kathmandu and Pokhara offer a quick and scenic way to travel between these two iconic destinations. Vehicles are well-maintained, and drivers are professional and experienced, prioritizing your safety and convenience.

    Electricity and Charging

Nepal uses a 220-240V power supply with Type C, D, and M plug sockets. Travelers are advised to bring a universal adapter to charge their devices. Electricity is reliable in most hotels, but occasional power outages can occur in smaller towns or during peak usage. Luxury accommodations often provide backup power systems to ensure uninterrupted service.

    Festivals and Public Holidays
