    Chitwan- piece of the heaven

    On May 08, 2025

Last week I and my family were in Nepal and had a family tour. We had a jungle safari in Chitwan National Park. Luxury Holidays Nepal planned our tour. From Kathmandu, we drove to Chitwan in a Luxurious tourist bus. We were in the 4 Star Hotel in Chitwan. It was so nice accommodation that we found so luxurious. We had canoeing in the park, and we also had nature walks. Then after we had also a jeep safari at late noon and in the evening we had a cultural program of the local community. And the next day we had bird watching early in the morning. Then we returned to Kathmandu in a luxurious tourist bus. The trip was so amazing and relaxing. The overall performance of LHN was so excellent.

They did a great job. I would like to thank you so much for your great effort.

    Naturally blessed Chitwan

    On May 08, 2025

Chitwan national park tour is my life memory. Last week I was in Chitwan national park. I found Luxury Holidays on Facebook. After a short conversation, I booked the trip. Visiting Chitwan was so nice, canoeing, jeep safari, nature walk elephant ride and elephant bath all were pretty much amazing. In the morning there were so many birds and watching those birds was very nice. One thing that I loved much on this trip was the Cultural program in the evening. The cultural and traditional dance was so amazing. Luxury holidays provided us with luxurious tourist vehicles for traveling, and 4 Star hotels for accommodation. We tasted some of the delicious foods and were on the meal plans for the trip. That tour was more amazing than the job of the LHN.

Thank you LHN team for such a wonderful vacation. I hope we will be together soon.

Luxury Holidays Nepal is a wonderful company, that offers the best luxury hotel and services in Nepal. From the beginning, we felt very safe throughout the trek with our guide Hari and porter Shyam was extraordinary. LHN organized our jungle safari in Chitwan. We had a great and relaxing time, even while in the mountains and have a great experience. After finishing trekking with wonderful memories we headed to Chitwan and visit the Tharu village, canoeing, elephant bathing, and Jungle safari were amazing. In this place, Hotel accommodation was great with typical Nepali food and quality services. I will definitely go for the second one remembering the outstanding memories and thrill of adventure.

Good to Know

Travel Documents

To embark on your Chitwan National Park Safari with Luxury Holidays Nepal, ensure that you carry all necessary travel documents. A valid passport with at least six months of validity from the date of entry is essential. For foreign nationals, a Nepal entry visa is required, which can be obtained upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or in advance from a Nepalese embassy or consulate. Additionally, keep your confirmed itinerary, hotel booking details, and a copy of your international flight tickets handy. If you plan to engage in special activities like filming or drone usage in Chitwan, ensure you have the required permits. Carry photocopies of your documents as backups and store digital copies on a secure device or cloud storage.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is a critical component of any journey and is highly recommended for your Chitwan National Park Safari. Your policy should cover trip cancellations, interruptions, and delays to safeguard your investment. Medical insurance is equally important, especially for emergencies requiring treatment or evacuation. Ensure your coverage includes repatriation and loss of personal belongings, as well as any unforeseen circumstances that could arise during your trip. Confirm that your insurer provides services in Nepal and carries their emergency contact details with you at all times. Although Luxury Holidays Nepal ensures a safe and seamless experience, having travel insurance provides additional peace of mind.

Health and Physical Fitness

The Chitwan National Park Safari is suitable for individuals of all fitness levels, as it involves mostly leisurely activities like jeep safaris, cultural tours, and short nature walks. However, maintaining basic health and wellness is vital to fully enjoy the experience. Before your trip, consult with a healthcare professional to ensure you are up-to-date on any vaccinations recommended for Nepal. Carry a small personal medical kit with essentials such as medications for allergies, headaches, and digestive issues. Stay hydrated, protect yourself from the sun, and wear comfortable clothing suited for the park's warm and humid climate. With minimal physical exertion required, this safari is ideal for travelers seeking relaxation and adventure in a natural setting.

Weather Conditions

Chitwan National Park experiences a tropical climate with three main seasons: summer (March to June), monsoon (July to September), and winter (October to February). Summers are warm and humid, with temperatures reaching up to 36°C (96°F), while winters are cooler and pleasant, with daytime temperatures around 25°C (77°F) and nights dropping to 7°C (45°F). The monsoon season brings heavy rainfall, making the park lush but with limited accessibility for some activities. The best time to visit is during the dry season (October to March), when wildlife sightings are most frequent, and the weather is favorable for safaris and nature walks. Pack light, breathable clothing for warmer months, and layers for the cooler winter evenings.

Cultural Considerations

Chitwan is home to the indigenous Tharu community, known for their unique traditions and cultural heritage. When visiting villages or attending cultural programs, it is important to dress modestly and respect local customs. Avoid public displays of affection, which may be considered inappropriate. Photography is generally welcomed, but always ask for permission before capturing images of local people or their homes. Participate in cultural activities with an open mind, such as traditional Tharu dances, and use this opportunity to learn about their lifestyle and conservation efforts. Demonstrating cultural sensitivity enhances your experience and fosters goodwill with the local community.

Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is customary in Nepal and is considered a way to show appreciation for good service. While tipping is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged, especially for guides, drivers, and hotel staff who ensure your trip runs smoothly. For guides and drivers, a tip of USD 5–10 per day per person is a common practice. Hotel staff and porters may be tipped smaller amounts, such as USD 2–5, depending on the level of service. It is always appreciated to tip in local currency (Nepalese Rupees) for convenience. When tipping, hand it directly to the individual with a polite word of thanks.

Safety & Security

Chitwan National Park is a safe destination, but travelers should take general precautions for a worry-free experience. During jungle activities, always follow the instructions of your guide to ensure your safety, particularly in areas with wild animals. Avoid wandering into the forest alone, especially at night. Keep your belongings secure and carry only essentials during tours to prevent loss or theft. In the villages, respect local customs and avoid confrontation. Luxury Holidays Nepal ensures your journey is well-organized, and our guides prioritize your safety at every step. For emergencies, contact details of local authorities or your travel operator should always be accessible.

Currency and Money Matters

The official currency of Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR), which is widely accepted throughout Chitwan. It is advisable to carry cash in smaller denominations for tips, entrance fees, and local purchases, as card payments may not be accepted in remote areas. ATMs are available in major towns but may be limited near the park, so withdraw sufficient cash before your journey. Currency exchange services are available at airports, hotels, and authorized money exchangers. Always carry a mix of cash and a reliable international debit/credit card for backup. Keep your money secure and avoid displaying large amounts in public to ensure safety.

Luxury Holidays Nepal offers a range of accommodation options during your Chitwan National Park Safari to suit every preference and budget. From standard hotels like Hotel Parkland to luxury resorts like Kasara Resort and premium stays at Meghauli Serai, you can enjoy comfort amidst nature. All accommodations provide essential amenities such as clean rooms, private bathrooms, and dining facilities, with upgraded options offering additional luxuries like swimming pools and spa services. Whether you choose a cozy standard lodge or an opulent premium resort, you can expect warm hospitality and an immersive experience in the park’s serene environment.

Transportation

Your journey to and from Chitwan is made seamless with Luxury Holidays Nepal’s carefully arranged transportation options. The standard package includes comfortable tourist bus travel between Kathmandu and Chitwan, while private vehicles or domestic flights can be arranged for added convenience at an additional cost. Within the park, guided tours and safaris are conducted in well-maintained safari jeeps, ensuring safety and comfort as you explore the diverse landscapes.

Electricity and Charging

Electricity in Nepal operates on a 220-240V supply with Type C, D, and M plug types. Most hotels and lodges in Chitwan provide access to electricity, allowing you to charge your devices. It is advisable to carry a universal adapter to ensure compatibility with different plug types. In more remote areas or during outdoor activities, power availability might be limited, so bringing a portable power bank is recommended to keep your devices charged throughout the trip.

Festivals and Public Holidays

Nepal is rich in cultural diversity, and many festivals are celebrated throughout the year. Major festivals like Dashain, Tihar, and Holi may coincide with your visit, offering a chance to witness vibrant traditions and celebrations. However, public holidays can also affect transportation schedules and business operations. If your travel dates overlap with a festival, Luxury Holidays Nepal ensures smooth arrangements to minimize disruptions and maximize cultural experiences.

Food and Dining

During your stay, enjoy full-board meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) as part of the package. The dining options include a mix of traditional Nepali dishes, such as dal bhat (lentil soup and rice), and international cuisines to cater to diverse palates. Resorts and lodges in Chitwan also serve fresh, locally sourced ingredients, ensuring a delightful dining experience. Hot beverages are included, and special dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice to Luxury Holidays Nepal.

Cancellations and Weather-Related Changes

While Chitwan National Park enjoys stable weather during peak seasons, unforeseen circumstances like heavy rains during the monsoon or transportation delays may require itinerary adjustments. Luxury Holidays Nepal strives to provide alternative arrangements to ensure your comfort and safety. For cancellations, refer to the company’s cancellation policy, which outlines the terms for refunds and rescheduling. We recommend travel insurance to cover any unexpected changes or losses.

Language and Communication

Nepali is the official language of Nepal, but English is widely spoken in tourist areas, including Chitwan National Park. Guides and hotel staff provided by Luxury Holidays Nepal are fluent in English, ensuring clear communication throughout your journey. For local interactions, a few basic Nepali phrases, such as "Namaste" (hello) and "Dhanyabad" (thank you), can enhance your experience. Most accommodations offer Wi-Fi access, allowing you to stay connected with friends and family, though connectivity might be slower in remote locations.
