    Good to Know

    Flight Information

Your journey begins and ends at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu. You may arrive at any time on Day 1, as our representative will be available for private airport pickup. The tour concludes after breakfast on Day 4 with a complimentary transfer to the airport for your international departure.

All domestic helicopter flights are scheduled based on weather conditions, typically operating in the early morning for optimal visibility. Please allow flexibility in your itinerary on helicopter days, as Himalayan weather can cause changes or short delays for safety reasons.

    Nepal Visa Information

Nepal offers a convenient Visa on Arrival service at Tribhuvan International Airport, available for most nationalities. Here's how to obtain it:

    Visa on Arrival Process:

Fill out the Arrival Card and Tourist Visa Application Form (can be completed online at Nepal Immigration up to 15 days before arrival).

Submit your passport (valid for at least 6 months) and passport-size photo.

Pay the visa fee at the immigration desk:

    • 15 days: USD 30
    • 30 days: USD 50
    • 90 days: USD 125

After obtaining your visa, proceed through security, collect your luggage, and exit the terminal. Look for your name and Luxury Holidays Nepal signage just outside the airport building at the designated pickup point.

You may also apply for a visa in advance at your nearest Nepalese Embassy or Consulate.

    Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for this tour and must cover:

    • Trip cancellations or delays
    • Medical expenses
    • Emergency helicopter evacuation (required due to high-altitude locations)
    • Personal liability and loss of baggage

Due to the nature of the helicopter tour and altitude exposure, your policy must explicitly cover activities above 4,000 meters. Please carry a copy of your insurance policy with you during the trip.

    Health and Physical Fitness

This tour is designed for luxury travelers and does not require trekking or strenuous activity. However, the helicopter flight to Kala Patthar (5,545 m) and the overnight stay at Hotel Everest View (3,880 m) involve short-term exposure to high altitude.

Most travelers do well without difficulty, but mild altitude symptoms like shortness of breath or headache may occur. Stay well-hydrated, avoid alcohol at altitude, and consult your physician before travel if you have heart, lung, or altitude-related concerns.

    Weather Conditions

The best time for the Luxury Everest Helicopter Tour with Hotel Everest View Overnight Stay – 4 Days is throughout the year, with the exception of the monsoon season (June to mid-September) when heavy rainfall and cloud cover can disrupt flight visibility and schedules. The most ideal periods are during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when the skies are typically clear, and the Himalayan views are at their most spectacular. Winter (December to February) also offers stunning mountain visibility with fewer crowds, though it can be chilly at higher altitudes. Thanks to the tour's time-efficient design and scenic helicopter flight, it remains a year-round favorite for luxury travelers seeking an unforgettable Himalayan experience.

    Cultural Considerations

Nepal is rich in culture and tradition, and respecting local customs enhances your travel experience. Dress modestly when visiting temples and religious sites—covering shoulders and knees is appreciated. Always remove your shoes before entering temples or homes. Public displays of affection are uncommon, and it's best to greet locals with a respectful "Namaste". Photography is generally welcome, but always ask permission before taking pictures of people or inside sacred places.

    Tipping Guidelines

Tipping is not mandatory in Nepal but is customary and greatly appreciated. In luxury travel services, tipping reflects your satisfaction with the service provided. As a general guideline:

    • Guides: USD $10–$20 per day
    • Drivers: USD $5–$10 per day

Hotel Staff and Porters: USD $1–$2 per service At restaurants, a 10% service charge is often included, but an additional small tip is welcomed for exceptional service.

    Safety & Security

Nepal is a safe and welcoming destination for tourists. Luxury Holidays Nepal ensures your safety with private transportation, experienced staff, and high-standard accommodations. However, as with any travel, exercise basic precautions: avoid isolated areas after dark, keep valuables secure, and follow your guide's instructions during helicopter tours and excursions. All helicopter operations are conducted with certified pilots and safety procedures.

    Currency and Money Matters

The local currency is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). While major cities and hotels accept international cards, we recommend carrying some cash in local currency for small purchases, tips, and remote areas. ATMs are widely available in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Exchange counters are located at the airport and in major tourist areas. US dollars are also accepted in many places, especially in luxury service outlets.

    Language and Communication

Nepali is the official language of Nepal, but English is widely spoken in hotels, restaurants, and among tour guides. Your guide from Luxury Holidays Nepal is fluent in English and trained in guest communication. Mobile networks are available throughout major cities and tourist areas. SIM cards with data plans can be purchased easily at the airport or in town. Most hotels offer complimentary Wi-Fi, though speed may vary in mountainous regions.

    Packing List & Luggage Guidelines

While traveling in luxury, packing smart is key—especially for high-altitude helicopter flights where weight limits may apply. Pack layers for changing weather, comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, a down jacket, and essentials like power adapters and medications. For helicopter tours, soft-shell duffel bags are preferred, and total luggage weight may be restricted to 10–15 kg per person. Luxury Holidays Nepal will provide detailed packing advice before your trip.

    Connectivity & Internet Access

Staying connected is easy in Nepal’s major cities. Most 4-star and 5-star hotels offer free Wi-Fi, and local SIM cards with 4G data are available for purchase at the airport and city shops. In remote areas such as Hotel Everest View, connectivity can be limited or slower. We recommend downloading important documents, maps, or entertainment offline in advance if needed.

    Food & Dietary Preferences

Luxury Holidays Nepal ensures a blend of authentic Nepali flavors and international cuisine throughout your tour. Breakfasts are included at your hotel, and Hotel Everest View offers gourmet meals with incredible Himalayan views. We happily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary requirements—please notify us in advance so we can make arrangements with hotels and restaurants accordingly.

    Electricity & Power Supply

Nepal uses Type C, D, and M power sockets with a standard voltage of 230V. We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter and power bank, especially for photographers and drone users. While power cuts are rare in luxury hotels, remote areas may experience occasional outages—your hotels typically provide backup solutions.

    Helicopter Safety and Altitude Guidelines

All helicopter flights are operated by licensed pilots and certified aviation companies with a strong focus on passenger safety. Oxygen support is available onboard if needed. While altitude gain is quick, the duration at high elevation is brief to minimize risk. Listen closely to your pilot and guide, and avoid physical exertion at high altitudes.
